Day 4 Prompt: Feature a day in your life or someone else’s life
She wore a smile, every day
Her eyes shone with laughter and mirth
Her days were filled from morning to night
with chores and helping others get alright
And every night
alone at last
she would glance at the phone still blank
& cradle her heart broken & still
sleep to rise another day
to shine & polish
another’s day
<This poem is dedicated to the ladies of a very special messenger group – I almost didn’t make it today, except for the reminder today – Take a breath, It is OK!>

Relax breathe. It’s okay. We will get stuff done. Love your spirit.
🙂 A bit sad, but empathy is a good thing! I could see “her” in this poem.
A poignant, evocative time– ‘to polish another’s day.’
Love, the lines Ish! It’s amazing!
Superb! I love that she keeps aside her sorrow, to help others. Lovely attitude.
Awww… big hugs to you for this!!! Chin up as there is abright sunrise on the other side of this soon!!
Lovely lines, Isheita. Some are like that selfless and dependable. So beautifully written. 🙂
“And every night
alone at last
she would glance at the phone still blank
& cradle her heart broken & still”
My heart felt heavy after reading this line. Loved the way you ended it by showing how she keeps her sorrows aside. Indeed a heart felt post!
I could feel the pain in your hearts. You have expressed in an excellent way !!!
I could relate to this poem..many women do this..they manage everything throughout the day and then go to bed with a broken heart.
And hopefully each day she wakes up stronger. Beautiful write.
That’s a beautiful flow out there. I couldn’t outrightly find poetry on this platform but the post I clicked turned out to be a poem. So glad to have read this 🙂 Keep writing.
