Welcome to the A to Z of Healing with Isheeria’s Healing Circles.
I hope you are enjoying my notes and experiences of being a healer and working with A to E till now.
E is for ESSENTIAL OILS
Hopefully, you have read my post for [B] is for Bach Flower Therapy here & so you know how much I love flowers and nature, a natural next step for me as a Healer was to explore the power of Essential Oils.
Essential Oils are the pure essences of aromatic plants which are for their Health-giving properties and heady scent.
For over 6000 years the Healing, Cleansing, preservative and mood-enhancing properties of the Natural plant oils and their pleasurable fragrances have been recognized, and today, this is one of the most Natural ways of Healing and restoring the balance of mind and body.
Essential Oils are absorbed by the body through the skin or by inhaling. They affect the emotions by working on the limbic system, which also controls the major functions of the body.
Since they evaporate quickly, so they are usually mixed with other carrier oils to trap their effectiveness. They are measured in drops as they are highly concentrated.
Each Oil has a distinct chemical composition which determines its fragrance, color, volatility and the in which it affects the system, giving each oil its unique set of beneficial properties.
Each essential oil is associated with planets, astrology, elements, zodiac, and have specific healing and magickal properties and mental/emotional effects.
The Therapeutic blends are made keeping in mind the individual’s needs, state of mind, physical conditions and the symptoms from which relief is being sought.
Essential oils can be used in – fragrances, perfumes, cosmetics, baths, candles, potpourri, humidifiers, etc.
What I love about Essential Oils, apart from the fragrance which make one feel good, is that they work on both the Physical and Psychological well-being of a person.
A little known fact is – if you have a history of miscarriages, you should avoid chamomile and lavender essential Oils for the first few months.
Also, during pregnancy, use all essential oils in half the usual quantity.
There are also certain scents that can be used to align and balance your chakras. (Read more about Chakra Healing here).
Essential Oils for Balancing Chakras
Chakra | Where to Apply | Recommended Oils |
Crown Chakra | Top of the head | Lavender, Myrh, Frankincense |
Third Eye Chakra | Between the eye brows | Lavender, Patchouli |
Throat Chakra | Throat area | Chamomile, Tea Tree |
Heart Chakra | Chest area/over the heart | Rose, Jasmine, Ylang Ylang |
Solar Plexus | Between the navel and ribcage | Lemon Grass, Fennel |
Sacral Chakra | Slightly below the navel | Patchouli, Rosewood |
Root Chakra | Base of Spine or Bottom of Feet | Sandalwood, Ginger |
Remember: Essential Oils should never be used directly. They should be blended in adequate proportions with the carrier oils. A patch test is necessary to rule out any reactions.
Essential Oils should not be used without consulting a Therapist, as even small amounts can build up to toxic levels in the body over a period of time.
Have you tried Essential Oils? Which one is your favorite?
Blessed Be!

Most welcome 🙂 Thank you for visiting.
I have mixed essential oils into the massage concoctions I provided over the years
Superb- so you too have seen the benefits of them! Thank you for sharing your experience.
Lavender is one of the most popular essential oils, thanks to its appealing sweet, floral aroma and versatility. It’s well-known for its ability to soothe and relax. By sprinkling a few drops on my pillow at night, it helps to create a more relaxing environment and inducing better rest for me. It doesn’t generally have to be diluted with a carrier oil before use hence I use this. It helped me to get rid of skin irritation a few years ago.
Lavender is 1 of my favorites too! I am so glad you enjoy it & found it to be helpful! Thank you for sharing your experiences.
