Symbols are visual images indicative of a complete (& deeper) meaning, a complete communication. They have literal and figurative meanings, and are different from signs (informatory, e.g. Traffic Light, road signs, etc)
For someone who understands the symbols, just the symbol is enough to express a complete idea or give direction (for example: symbols in chemistry).

In ancient times, before the written word, the mode of communication was pictorial. The walls were carved/ painted on stone or wood. The primary symbols used in each picture were of animals and plants. Each picture stood for the animal itself, and also its attributes, characteristics and strengths.

You have 2 similar symbols, that of the Cross for Christ and the Red Plus sign which is the symbol for the Red Cross  – both are essentially 2 lines intersecting / a vertical and horizontal lines at different points – it is in this difference wherein lies the different in their meanings and their purport.
On a building if u see a CROSS († )– it is clear that it’s a religious building – belongs to Christianity. and it immediately reminds you of Jesus Christ and his sacrifice for mankind.

On the other hand, if you see the PLUS Sign (+), you know it refers to the Red Cross, and even indicates a place where you can get medical aid.

There are some symbols which are associated with deep spiritual meanings and can be quite powerful.
There are sacred symbols as most healers are aware, they are secret and sacred and very powerful. They empower you and magnify the healing and help transcend space and time.

The most important thing when making/writing or working with symbols is to be CAREFUL of the ACCURATE drawing/depiction of the symbol.

Some Auspicious symbols include –

The OM which is used by people across the Globe, you can read more about it here.

The Swastik –  This is considered an auspicious symbol, and is used at the commencement of any ceremony or start of something.
It is associated with luck and is a symbol of happiness, prosperity and peace. And victory.

A famous use of the symbol is seen at many homes and offices, where the symbol is put up at the entrance, welcoming Prosperity & Peace, and happiness for everyone.

A Famous example of the symbol being used, & it’s power can be seen from what happened ultimately with Hitler’s ambitious (nefarious) plans.
The person who drew the symbol of Swastik for Hitler’s army, did so as he wanted these qualities of luck and victory, but due to the wrong drawing of it – the change in the angle of the symbol, the meaning got changed completely, and it symbolised the complete opposite – Destruction and annihilation!

These symbols are powerful and sacred – We must treat them with respect and reverence. Ensure that we understand the deeper meanings and powers of the symbols before invoking and inviting them into our homes, lives and practices.

My favourite – which I follow personally, is drawing the swastika symbol at the centre top of 1st page of all my notebooks.

Is there any symbol which you find resonates with you?

Blessed Be!
