Have you ever stood on top of a mountain and just viewed the expanse and noticed the way the majestic peaks dwarf everything around them and realized how tiny you are in comparison but at the same time felt the exhilarating rush of literally and figuratively being on top of the world.

Or have you walked in the park on a lovely spring morning taking in nature around you and felt that at that moment everything was right in the world.

Why do we from time to time get this urge to head to the mountains or just head out to our home garden and sit and read or just lie in the grass?

The reason is ‘Earth energy’. Each of our bodies are made up of 5 elements and earth is one of them. Each of these elements needs to be connected to make us lead healthy and happy lives.

We need earth energy to feel balanced and stable. When earth energy is out of sync with our physical being, we cannot focus and our spiritual self also suffers. The feeling of being out of sorts and stress are big indicators of lack of earth energy.

While alternate healing methods have understood the need to balance your elements since centuries, modern science has also recently discovered this and has been trying to incorporate it through setting up convalescent homes in the mountains.

Even though there are a number of methods through which you can ensure that earth energy is in balance, one of the easiest ways is to walk in the grass barefoot for a while in the morning and should be incorporated into your daily routine.

Other ways are to meditate in the open and preferably in a park or garden and to meditate on the image of attaching yourself to the earth like a tree attaches itself to the soil via its roots.

So get out there and get connected!

“The best remedy for those who are afraid, lonely or unhappy is to go outside, somewhere where they can be quite alone with the heavens, nature and God. Because only then does one feel that all is as it should be and that God wishes to see people happy, amidst the simple beauty of nature. As longs as this exists, and it certainly always will, I know that then there will always be comfort for every sorrow, whatever the circumstances may be. And I firmly believe that nature brings solace in all troubles.”
