Day 2 Prompt : A Resource I have and Use

Sometimes it takes a prompt such as this, about Resources to make you look around and realise, we live in a day and age when we are surrounded by resources! We are spoilt for choice – we now have so many options, choices, apps, sites, courses, resources that we don’t know where to begin, what to pursue and what to really apply in our lives.

Beyond the obvious Technological and Social resources, there is also the resources of People and the Universe at our disposal! Many a time, we don’t pick our head up from the phone/gadget in our hands, nor do we get out of the problems in our heads to really look around and appreciate the Resources that are available to us! and frankly, I don’t know how many of us truly use those which are readily available either.

The one resource which i have seen time and again to be readily, freely available to everyone (irrespective of any labels we may use to define or color them) is FAITH

Faith is a multi dimensional word – it is not constrained in its meaning, on the contrary it applies to whatever we many believe in – It could be God, yes offcourse! and it can also refer to our Faith in the universe, a higher power above, or even, and this is my favorite definition, Faith in Ourselves!

WE are our own biggest resources! Click To Tweet

Life and the Adventure of Suffering go hand in hand – I have found that in the moments of trials and doubts, having FAITH in something or someone is extremely important (and Faith is a very strong support system to have, especially in the face of (perceived) insurmountable challenges!)

Having unshakable Faith lays the foundations for victories and happiness – for ourselves and for others.

These 2 posters summarize Faith beautifully, and are a reminder on tough days to keep my Faith – in myself, my God and the Universe!

One of my All-time favorite stories about Faith is the 1936 version of ‘Footprints in the Sand’ by Mary Stevenson.

Footprints in the Sand

One night I dreamed I was walking along the beach with the Lord. Many scenes from my life flashed across the sky.

In each scene I noticed footprints in the sand. Sometimes there were two sets of footprints, other times there was one only.

This bothered me because I noticed that during the low periods of my life, when I was suffering from anguish, sorrow or defeat, I could see only one set of footprints, so I said to the Lord,

“You promised me Lord,
that if I followed you, you would walk with me always. But I have noticed that during the most trying periods of my life there has only been one set of footprints in the sand.
Why, when I needed you most, have you not been there for me?”

The Lord replied, “The years when you have seen only one set of footprints, my child, is when I carried you.”

Mary Stevenson, 1936

What are the resources you have and use? I’d love to read about your resources, and your thoughts on my view! Thank you for visiting me today!
