In a world filled with potions, tarot cards, and mystical energies, nothing complements a healer’s journey quite like a good book.
As a practitioner of tarot, numerology, and magick, I’ve concocted a listicle featuring genres that blend the mystical, the heart-warming, and the humorous. Join me on a literary journey that’s both engaging and uplifting, with a touch of laughter to cast away the mundane.
Here’s my List of Genres I enjoy reading, whether as part of my Learning or just Living and enjoying the written word –
Magical Realism
Step into worlds where the extraordinary dances with the everyday, where magic is woven into the fabric of reality. Authors like Isabel Allende and Gabriel Garcia Marquez are literary alchemists, turning words into spells that transport readers into realms where enchantment is as commonplace as the sunrise.
Book recommendation: “Practical Magic” by Alice Hoffman – The book and movie was one of my first introductions to the world of magick.
Witchy Memoirs
Peel back the veil and explore the personal journeys of modern-day practitioners. Memoirs from healers, tarot readers, and witches offer a glimpse into their magical lives, sharing wisdom, trials, and triumphs. These books are akin to a personal tarot reading, providing insights and reflections. Memoirs from modern-day spell casters and healers provide insight, inspiration, and maybe a few chuckles. You’ll feel a sense of camaraderie as you navigate the ups and downs of magical living.
Numerology Novels
Uncover the hidden significance behind numbers as you delve into novels that explore the mystical world of numerology. These stories weave the power of numbers into their narratives, adding an extra layer of depth that resonates with the numerology enthusiast.
Cozy Mysteries with a Tarot Twist
Picture a cozy setting, an intuitive tarot reader, and a mystery waiting to unfold. Cozy mysteries with a tarot theme combine the allure of divination with the suspense of a well-crafted whodunit. Cozy mysteries in the witchy genre combine charm and suspense, creating a delightful reading experience that will have you guessing until the very end.
Fantasy with Healing Themes
Immerse yourself in fantastical realms where healing powers take center stage and takes on a magical dimension. These novels often feature protagonists with magical abilities to mend both physical and emotional wounds. It’s like a warm cup of tea for your soul.
Historical Fiction with a Twist
Transport yourself to different eras where magic and witchcraft play a clandestine role in historical events. These novels blend real-world history with a touch of the supernatural, creating a captivating tapestry that will leave you spellbound.
Historical fiction with a touch of magick brings a unique perspective to bygone eras, blending real-world events with enchanting elements.
Humorous Urban Fantasy
Sometimes, you just need a good laugh along with your magical fix.
When laughter meets the supernatural, you get urban fantasy novels that are both entertaining and magical. Delight in the quirks of otherworldly characters and witty dialogues that will have you chuckling with every turn of the page.
Serious Studious Literature – Text Books
On a serious note, reading text books to learn more deeply about the esoteric subjects has really deepened by own practices and how I show up for others.
I even wrote a book on Numerology for those who want to learn the subject and practice and a collection of Essays based on my own experiences as a Healer – both are available on Amazon and the local bookstores. Do check them out, and if you read them, I would love to have a conversation with you and explore these subjects.
My literary journey has been nothing short of enchanting. As a healer, tarot enthusiast, and practitioner of numerology and magick, these genres have been my literary potion, stirring emotions and sparking joy.
From magical realism to cozy mysteries and humorous urban fantasy, these genres have woven a tapestry of wonder and warmth around my mystical soul.
So, brew a cup of herbal tea, light a candle, and dive into these spellbinding reads that are sure to leave you with a heartwarming glow and a sprinkle of magic in your life.
Happy reading, fellow magical beings!

This was such a fun list to think about and write 🙂
My love for tarot began during Covid-19. I started working seriously with the cards and I love their symbolism and colours. I would like to read more cosy mysteries related to tarot. I enjoy witchy and magical tales a lot, they are such brain revivers. I am also looking for more humourous books as well. I will check your book on numerology too, though I have little knowledge about the subject.
Wohoo!! I discovered some new genres through your post. Witch memoirs is totally new to me. Would love some book recommendations of the genres you shared to explore more about them
I have never tried Tarot reading. I tried some of the astrology and such stuff but never for the cards. Can you recommend some books on it?
Definitely! Do you want to learn about tarot cards or are you looking for fiction about tarot card readers? 🙂
Witchcraft playing roles in historical events makes me feel how unique this is. I have typically read stories based on historical events, and sometimes only the non-fictional account of a historical place. I will now take time to search a lot on witchcraft-related concepts and historical events. Fantasy with healing themes where healing power tales on a magical dimension. This is making me think of some witches healing someone by enchanting some spells.
Wow such new, intriguing and fascinating genres you have listed here, loved it and am gonna try some of them for sure. Thanks for sharing and very well written
Wow these genres sound really interesting and can be captivating. I learnt a couple of new genres and would love to read books from them to explore them further
Hey!! I landed up on some new genres because of your post. Can you recommend something in fantasy with a healing theme? It sounds right up my alley.
I had just forgotten that you are a tarot reader/numerologist Ishi! No wonder this listicle feels so magical! I am yet to dive into any of these genres. However I have always been fascinated with these categories. When I was in school, I bought myself a very fancy box of tarot cards from the book fair. It is still there in my book shelf.
What a beautiful list this is. Offbeat and full of uniquely written subheadings. Most of these are my favourites too a lot
What a wonderful post! Your insights and recommendations are truly appreciated. I’m always on the lookout for new reads, and your blog is a treasure trove of literary gems. Can’t wait to explore more of your recommendations. Happy reading!
Numerology fascinates me probably because of my love for maths. Also I always wanted to know more about how numbers can influence one’s life. This post has let me find some new genres. Also I would like to try tarot reading…
This is a fascinating post! As a fellow enthusiast of magic, the fusion of fiction and magical book genres caught my interest. I will definitely consider the recommendations.
I totally love this listicle of genres!! 🙂
Mystical energies are something that are always spellbound reads. Of late I got carried away with concepts like tarot, switch words, palmistry, reiki, fengshui, and healing education. I remember reading concepts of WICCA/White Magic and help as a healing aid to humankind. Special thanks to people like you who help with your commendable healing skills and aura that bring a legitimate change and drive towards a positive path. I will definitely consider recommendations you made as my upcoming reads.
wow now this is a very different list of book genres that I have come across. But I did read a book in Historical fiction mixed with apothecary, The Lost Apothecary by Sarah Penner and I loved that book and also recommended it to my friends to read it.
As an avid book lover, stumbling upon this blog gave me a magical insight. What really sets this blog apart is the impeccable book recommendations and a totally different listicle which I’ve never known till now. Your listicle offers a diverse range of titles related to numerology and tarot, that I never would have discovered on my own. I used to wonder how tarot readers do their magic whenever I saw some readings online. I’d love to delve deeper into this genre!
