My Review:
The Book Cover is striking as it is different. The black and white grid with footprints and the red spine.
The footprints through the grid which is on the book cover are reminiscent of LIFE – as we walk through, and navigate through the maze of this life.
The red dot and the book spine is, to me, the brightness of the human spirit – our fire, passion, and resilience!
First off, the style of
writing is very different from the usual writings that you come
across these days.
It took me a few pages to get used to the language and form of writing. Once I
did, it was a smooth sail and the stories literally came alive.
So, actually, the author, Santhosh Komaraju has very smartly used a very different (at times jarring) style of narrating the story, which makes your brain look a little harder and pay attention to the story, and more importantly the lesson of the story.
I found once in the flow of reading, I absorbed the stories like I would the mythical tales from our culture – believing them to be true of a bygone era, and taking in the morals from the experiences of the protagonists of each story.
Some of the stories that left me thinking for a long while after (and in my opinion, those are the best kind of stories – those which make us pause, reflect and think a little deeper, no?)
The story of the Mango trees and how we search was insightful about our inner dialogues, the story of the priest and the lady really brought home the power of thoughts and intentions trumping over our backgrounds, and many more!
I hope you enjoyed reading my review of Santhosh Komaraju’s book: A Walk Through Life.
